Overview of the present situation in Slovenia regarding regulations, value-based medical treatment and therapy. Role of the 1st FORUM MEDTECH SLOVENIA on shaping regulations in individual areas.

The role of the register in managing diabetes treatment
Introductory overview of the economic aspect of diabetes care coupled with examples of good data digitization practices – from Slovenia and abroad.

• How can digitization and registries increase the cost-effectiveness and quality of diabetes care?
• Can models of good practices from registries from abroad be used to improve work?
• Does digitization offer us the possibility to learn more about the disease itself?

These are just some of the questions that will be addressed at the round table, focusing on the care of the diabetic patient in the age of digitalization. With interlocutors from various professional fields, we will find out how tools such as registries and digital data connectivity can contribute to the monitoring and additional improvement of the treatment of diabetes and, at the same time, enable the identification of other challenges in this disease.

DAY 2 – Friday, 29 September

9:00 – 10:00 The contribution of digitization to the treatment of chronic wounds and their prevention

Introduction to the topic with a presentation and role of the DORS association and its role in preventing bedsores (RZP/PZP) and wound care. We will discuss the European guidelines in this area and how successfully are they incorporated into Slovenian practice. We will conclude with an overview of the economic aspect of treating chronic wounds and an insight into the potential issues patients with a chronic wound face.

11:30 – 13:30 ROUND TABLE:

• What are the pitfalls of current funding of wound care materials in primary care?
• What are the possibilities for improving the care of chronic wounds, and how can we provide resources for wound care so that the patients receive adequate treatment?
• How well regulated is the prevention of bedsores (RZP/PZP)?

These are some of the starting points of the round table. The guests will provide their insights on where they see ways for patients with chronic wounds to get appropriate wound dressings if their physician or visiting nurse do not provide it. We will also discuss the possibility of establishing a wound registry and address the issue of how digitalization in this area could improve the examination and follow-up of patients with wounds and, thus, better quality care. Together with the speakers, we will look for solutions to improve regulation in this area and how various tools can help us, including the concept of value-based medical treatment.

The 2nd FORUM MedTech Slovenia is taking place on 28 and 29 September 2023 at the headquarters of the Medical Chamber of Slovenia, Dunajska cesta 162, Ljubljana.

The fee includes participation in the lectures, materials, refreshments and snacks during breaks and lunch on 28 and 29 September 2023.

Registrations are open until 26 September 2023. Cancellation without obligation to pay the participation fee is allowed until 25 September 2023 at the latest.
